DESCRIPTION


We have developed multiple VR experiences for theme parks, including VR interactive Roller Coasters, where passengers sit on a real train with VR glasses and they can "shoot" virtual enemies while the train is moving.


We teamed with Parque Reunidos and VR Coaster, to deliver four VR interactive roller coasters during 2017-18 in Europe:


1. “TNT” - Parque de Atracciones (Spain, 2017)

2. “Master Thai” - Mirabilandia Park (Italy 2017)

3. “Dreamcatcher VR” - Bobbejaanland Family Park (Belgium, 2018)

4. “Den Hemmelige Verden VR” - Bonbonland (Denmark, 2018)


We are the second company in Europe specialized on the creation of 3D experiences for VR roller coasters.


AD-HOC DEVELOPMENT

Each roller coaster is different (length, loops, number of passengers, speed, laps, etc). That’s why our team has to design a specific 3D environment for each roller coaster.


3D PROCESS


1. MERGING

We match the real roller coaster track with our 3D software and build from scratch a unique world of creatures, enemies, environment animations, sounds and interactive contents.  


2. DESIGN

Each element has to be ready to appears in the right place in the right timing. 

Our environments and animations are built on MAYA & UNITY 3D to create the correct individual scenes.


3. DYNAMIC CONTENT

Each scenes and elements has to been activated before the train arrives, if not, users will perceive how the environments is loading meanwhile the train is moving.


4. OPTIMIZATION

Each scenes must be optimized depending on the graphic capacities of the glasses hardware. We care about visual quality, but hardware temperature, battery consumption and processing calculations are our top priorities. 

This is a non-stop experience. Thousands of users will try our VR experience each day. We cannot deliver an experience that will generate hardware problems in a middle of a ride. 


5. INTERACTIVE LAYER

We add an interactive layer to each 3D experience so passengers can aim and “shoot” virtual enemies. We developed a script to activate and desdactivate enemies along the ride and a live ranking of the creatures killed.


TEAMWORK

3D designers:

  • To create 3D models, environments, characters, props, low poly optimization


2D designers:

  • To generate concept arts, illustrations, textures, materials, user interface instructions.


3D Animators:

  • Each character or animal on screen has to be rigged and animated to make the VR experience real.


FX supervisors:

  • To create impressive environments, we generate millions of small particles and visual effects.
  • Example: smoke, dust, magical powders, explosion, water reflections, etc.


Developpers:

  • Hundred of lines of codes are necessary to make appears all the elements in real time at the correct moment.
  • Interactive enemies are also controlled by an interactive layer software, to eliminate them when passengers shoot at them.


Screenwriters:

  • Each theme park has a different style and different stories related to their roller coasters.
  • Our screenwriters create from scratch a full original script, research, develop the action, imagine the environments and supervise every detail, to make sure that everything is coherent with the theme park guidelines.


Producers:

  • Budget, timing and team management is key during the 3-4 months of development.
  • Travel organization: visit and testing of roller coasters worldwide, visit and filming of different locations for 3D design (forests, deserts, underwater, etc)


Director:

Supervision of the 3D experience, from design, story telling and animations to final export.
